Preventing Further Basement Flooding:
A Case Study in Effective Drainage
Preventative maintenance is key when is comes to preserving the structural integrity of your home and avoiding costly repairs.
The Problem: Pour downspout drainage, leading to water pooling near the foundation. This situation risked significant structural damage. (Photos 1-3)
The Solution: Our Green Crew replaced the outdated downspout drainage, which was clogged with roots and other organic materials, with a new 4″ PVC pipe installed at a negative slope to a river rock pit. A key addition to the improved system was a leaf filter strategically placed at the downspout to prevent future blockages from leaves and debris. This ensures consistent and efficient water flow away from the foundation. (Photos 4-6) The Outcome: A completely functional and aesthetically pleasing drainage system which effectively diverts water, protecting the home’s foundation from further damage. (Photo 7 & 8)
